DTN COMMENTS: All is quiet in cattle feeding country this morning, with
bids and asking prices not fully established. Yesterday afternoon
Mandatory reported some light trade in all major feeding states, Northern
dressed deals were marked at $400, $2 to $3 lower than last week's
weighted averages, but Southern live sales came in at $260, $3 higher
than last week's weighted averages. Keep in mind that it was a relatively
light test, so this may not be an accurate trend for the rest of the
week's business. Beef cutouts are expected to be higher with light to
moderate box movement.
NOTE: Feedlots are encouraged to call DTN with any cattle sales, at
1-402-461-3561. All sales will be listed anonymously and organized by
state. All live sales are FOB and set for 1-9-day delivery. A weekly
summary from this data will be posted on the Weekly Cattle Sales Reported
to DTN page and will be left up for the entire week for reference
purposes.
