Weekly Beef Export Sales 03/12 07:35
Hides and Skins: Net sales of 332,200 pieces for 2026 were up 24 percent
from the previous week and 21 percent from the prior 4-week average.
Increases primarily for China (185,100 whole cattle hides, including
decreases of 75,800 pieces), Mexico (56,000 whole cattle hides, including
decreases of 30,000 pieces), South Korea (29,400 whole cattle hides,
including decreases of 5,600 pieces), Thailand (26,000 whole cattle hides,
including decreases of 24,400 pieces), and Italy (22,900 whole cattle
hides, including decreases of 1,000 pieces), were offset by reductions for
Taiwan (4,100 pieces). Exports of 281,700 whole cattle hides were up 1
percent from the previous week, but down 19 percent from the prior 4-week
average. The destinations were primarily to China (166,700 pieces),
Thailand (30,600 pieces), Mexico (27,600 pieces), South Korea (23,800
pieces), and Brazil (13,600 pieces).
Net sales of 64,900 wet blues for 2026 were up noticeably from the
previous week, but down 24 percent from the prior 4-week average.
Increases primarily for Brazil (34,100 unsplit), Vietnam (28,700 unsplit,
including decreases of 100 unsplit), China (10,400 unsplit, including
decreases of 4,600 unsplit), Taiwan (9,000 unsplit), and India (6,800
unsplit), were offset by reductions for Hong Kong (22,900 unsplit) and
Italy (2,400 unsplit). Net sales of 25,200 unsplit for 2027 were reported
for Hong Kong (22,800 unsplit) and Italy (2,400 unsplit). Net sales of
9,500 other excluding wet blues were reported for China (8,400 pounds) and
Mexico (1,000 pounds). Exports of 165,900 wet blues were up 37 percent
from the previous week and 50 percent from the prior 4-week average. The
destinations were primarily to Vietnam (62,600 unsplit), Italy (38,900
unsplit), Thailand (23,600 unsplit), China (18,700 unsplit), and Hong Kong
(10,700 unsplit). Exports of 3,000 other excluding wet blues were to
Turkey (2,200 pounds) and China (800 pounds). Net sales of 43,400 splits
reported for Vietnam (43,400 pounds, including 42,000 pounds switched from
Taiwan) and Mexico (42,000 pounds), were offset by reductions for Taiwan
(42,000 pounds). Exports of 86,400 splits were to Vietnam (43,400 pounds)
and China (43,000 pounds).
Beef: Net sales of 25,400 MT for 2026--a marketing-year high--were up
noticeably from the previous week and up 87 percent from the prior 4-week
average. Increases were primarily for South Korea (11,600 MT, including
decreases of 700 MT), Japan (5,900 MT, including decreases of 3,200 MT),
Hong Kong (3,200 MT, including decreases of 100 MT), Taiwan (1,200 MT,
including decreases of 100 MT), and Mexico (1,000 MT, including decreases
of 100 MT). Exports of 11,400 MT were down 23 percent from the previous
week and 14 percent from the prior 4-week average. The destinations were
primarily to South Korea (3,500 MT), Japan (3,300 MT), Mexico (1,100 MT),
Taiwan (1,100 MT), and Hong Kong (1,000 MT).
Pork: Net sales of 23,700 MT for 2026--a marketing-year low--were down 34
percent from the previous week and 30 percent from the prior 4-week
average. Increases were primarily for Mexico (5,200 MT, including
decreases of 700 MT), Japan (3,700 MT, including decreases of 500 MT),
China (2,900 MT, including decreases of 100 MT), South Korea (2,800 MT,
including decreases of 400 MT), and Colombia (2,000 MT, including 100 MT
switched from the Dominican Republic and decreases of 300 MT). Exports of
38,900 MT were up 3 percent from the previous week and from the prior 4-
week average. The destinations were primarily to Mexico (17,000 MT), Japan
(5,100 MT), South Korea (4,200 MT), China (3,700 MT), and Canada (2,000
MT).
